Tundra Tom, Path Sentinel on Trail Ridge Road

"This is my favorite look-out rock."

My job is to count all the people who park their cars and walk up the path by my rock house. I'm so busy haying that I don't keep very good track.

Most people ignore me. Some people think I'm cute. Others think I'm a mouse. Sometimes I have to squawk very loudly so they don't step right on my head. Every now and then a lady screams back at me.

Please don't feed Horace no matter how much he begs." Click for bigger. "That's my friend Horace." Click fo bigger.

That yellow bellied marmot to my right is my big friend Horace. He lives across the road.

Please don't feed him when he begs. He has a weight problem and his teeth aren't very good.

You can see by looking past Horace that we live on top of the world!
